  • Volvo Financial Services (VFS) has launched ‘Volvo Rental,’ a new service providing options for long-term rental for Volvo trucks, buses and construction equipment in the Brazilian market. With terms ranging from 24 to 60 months, plans are designed around each customers’ needs, including kilometers driven, hours worked or subscription, providing increased financial flexibility.

  • Volvo Construction Equipment has created an online tool that allows customers to “build and price” their ideal electric compact excavator and wheel loader, marking the company’s latest advancements in both e-commerce and the introduction of electric construction equipment to the market.

  • Volvo Financial Services (VFS) today announced that it is investing in the teaching of financial literacy skills for youth in nine countries through a global partnership with Junior Achievement Worldwide. The partnership will see VFS employee volunteers join with JA educators to equip the next generation with the financial skills and knowledge needed for success and self-sufficiency in the future. Individual programs in the nine countries begin this month.

  • Volvo Trucks North America announced today that is joining forces with Volvo Financial Services, Volvo Technology of America, Shell Recharge Solutions, TEC Equipment, Affinity Truck Center, and Western Truck Center to develop a publicly accessible medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicle (MHD EV) charging network that connects several of California’s largest metropolitan areas. With an award from the California Energy Commission (CEC) of $2 million under BESTFIT, the Electrified Charging Corridor Project will address key barriers to long-range MHD EV deployments and accelerate widespread adoption. The project will get underway in 2022, with all five stations anticipated to be online by the end of 2023.

  • Volvo Financial Services (VFS) today announced that Daniel Homem de Mello has been appointed senior vice president of global marketing and communication.   • Volvo Trucks North America customer, Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) — a Golden State Foods (GSF) company — is increasing its commitment to zero-tailpipe emission freight transport with its latest order of 30 Volvo VNR Electrics. In early 2023, the battery-electric Class 8 trucks will be deployed in QCD’s Southern California fleet operations delivering products to restaurants and coffee shops throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. This multi-stakeholder electrification project, announced during a press event on Monday, May 9, at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, includes 16 fast chargers and a renewable energy microgrid to power the chargers.

  • The Volvo Group announced today a $41 million investment in North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad to purchase and expand the building housing its U.S. Uptime Center, which will now also serve as the new global headquarters for Volvo Financial Services (VFS). The expansion of the building, which is about two miles from VFS’s currently leased location, will bring about 360 VFS colleagues onto Volvo Group North America’s campus.

  • Albertsons Companies, the second-largest grocery chain in the U.S., recently took delivery of two Volvo VNR Electric trucks at its distribution center in Irvine, California. The VNR Electric models from Volvo Trucks North America are the first zero tailpipe emission, battery-electric Class 8 trucks to be deployed in Albertsons Cos. company-wide fleet, and will be serving Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions stores in Southern California. Albertsons has procured electric-powered transport refrigeration units from Advanced Energy Machines (AEM) to pair with its Volvo VNR Electrics, enabling Albertsons Cos. to make the first commercial 100% zero-emission grocery delivery with a Class 8 truck in the U.S. This inaugural delivery, which took place on May 28, 2021 at a LEED-certified Albertsons store in Irvine, California, is an exciting step toward achieving the company’s sustainability goals.
