With its new Volvo FH series, Volvo Trucks is pushing the envelope for what a premium truck can offer. Fuel economy, reliability, ergonomics, superior handling, active and passive safety, and time-saving features. The Volvo FH is a truck built with the driver in mind and with the focus on improving the haulage firm’s profitability.

The number of votes in AB Volvo has changed due to the conversion of a total of 3,543,931 Series A shares to a total of 3,543,931 Series B shares. The conversions were implemented with the support of the opportunity for Series A shareholders to request conversion of Series A shares to Series B shares, which was entered in the Articles of Association at the 2011 Annual General Meeting.

Volvo Treasury AB (publ) has today published its semi-annual report for 2012.

Total deliveries from the Volvo Group’s truck operations in July 2012 amounted to 17,672 vehicles. This was an increase of 5% compared with the year-earlier month.

Pär Östberg, currently Executive Vice President Truck Joint Ventures (JVs) in the Volvo Group, has been appointed Executive Vice President of the holding company Industrivärden with responsibility for investment operations. In conjunction with Pär Östberg’s departure from the Volvo Group, Truck Joint Ventures will organizationally become part of Group Trucks Sales & Marketing and JVs APAC, headed by Joachim Rosenberg. As a result of this change, the former Group Trucks Sales & Marketing APAC operation will be renamed Group Trucks Sales & Marketing and JVs APAC.

“A truck that will carry us far into the future.” That is how Claes Nilsson, President of Volvo Trucks, summarizes the new versions of the Volvo FH and Volvo FH16 that will be released shortly.

Renault Trucks Defense, which is included in the Volvo Group’s Governmental Sales business area, is to acquire the French automotive manufacturer Panhard. The transaction is expected to be finalized during the fourth quarter of 2012. For implementation, approval is required from the relevant authorities.

The Volvo Group’s sales continued to grow during the second quarter. Net sales rose 6% to SEK 83.9 billion – representing the highest sales so far for a second quarter. Operating income totaled SEK 7.3 billion, which includes a positive impact of SEK 495 M as a result of VAT credits in Brazil. The operating margin of 8.7% is slightly lower than the year-earlier quarter, due primarily to a change in market mix.

The Volvo Group welcomes the new set of calls under the 7th EU Research and Technological Framework Program 2007-2013 and the budgetary envelope of EUR 8.1 billion dedicated to it.
