For the first time, VFS Italy has been certified as a Great Place to Work® by the Great Place to Work Institute®, a global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures. In its first year of participating, VFS Italy is ranked the second Best Workplace of all small companies in Italy.
The review process to become a certified Great Place to Work includes two components: 1) an application which compiles information on company demographics, policies, practices and philosophy, and 2) responses from the Great Place to Work Trust Index© Employee Survey, which was sent to all VFS employees in Italy, to gather their anonymous input.
Among the companies ranked in the survey, VFS Italy proved to be one of the best workplaces, where employees reported trust in management, pride in the work they do, and one in which team spirit and relationships with colleagues are very positive. From VFS Italy employees’ perspective, a great workplace is defined as one where employee trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the people they work with.
“VFS Italy is a great place to work because we are able to reach business objectives through people who do their best and work together as a team/family, in a trusted environment,” says Diego Gatti, Business Service Manager, VFS Italy. Credibility, respect and fairness allow employees to trust in the company. Pride and cohesion helps build relationships between employees, their work and the company.
Several initiatives contribute to the great result, including celebrating success during the quarterly staff meetings, closely cooperating with Volvo Group product companies, and “Workplace Health Promotion” accreditation - signifying a company that promotes healthy lifestyle among employees. “We have incredible passion for what we do, and we strongly believe that passion drives success not only for our team, but for our customers,” says Diego.
The list ranking was presented during an award ceremony for the Best Workplace in Italy last week. VFS Italy was represented by Diego and Elena Vergani, Manager Finance & Business Control and Massimo Luksch, Human Resources Manager from Volvo Group Italy, who received the prestigious diploma (pictured left, left to right).
“I am very happy for the recognition our Italian colleagues received, coming in second in the country, when participating for the first time! Being officially labeled a Great Place to Work in Italy is a great success for everybody in VFS Italy, and really encouraging for all colleagues in VFS. I send my best regards and sincere congratulations to the whole Italian team. Well done, feel good about it and celebrate your success!” says Nils Jaeger, President VFS Region EMEA. “Being assessed externally, competing with many other great companies in Italy, and now successfully being named in the Great Place to Work ranking is the result of great people management, high performance teamwork, trust and empowerment, and it will no doubt enhance our standing as an attractive employer.”
